Welcome from RCOG President
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Singapore and the RCOG, I would like to welcome you to this vibrant city for the 2018 RCOG World Congress.
Singapore is the gateway to Asia and has changed since our Congress was last held here in 1990, 28 years ago. It is now one of the most stable democracies in the world, a centre of higher education, with one of the lowest infant mortality rates in the world and highest life expectancies. Most importantly, Singapore is competing with Hong Kong to have the highest MRCOG pass rates!
I hope you have a thought provoking and stimulating week, with the main programme offering five simultaneous streams, including a wide variety of topics and both national and international speakers, allowing you to tailor your Congress experience to your particular interests and clinical practice.
This World Congress will be a truly global event with well over 2,500 delegates expected from around 74 countries and promises to be a unique opportunity for networking with colleagues from every corner of the world.
I am particularly excited to be here to meet, hear and learn about the excellent work our international Members and Fellows and International Representative Committees (IRCs) have been doing. Their work enables us to successfully affect healthcare policy and advocate for women across the globe.
When you have a chance, please find the time to come and visit us on stand number E8 in the Exhibition Hall. We will be on hand every break and lunch time to answer your questions about any aspects of the College’s education, standards and global health work, and the wide range of services and benefits available to you.
I plan to meet many of you personally over the course of the next 3 days and on behalf of everyone involved thank you for joining us. I very much hope that you will enjoy our Congress.
With very best wishes,
Professor Lesley Regan
