Biography
Dr Shan Lou holds the position of Reader in Precision Metrology and is an integral part of the Centre for Precision Technologies at the University of Huddersfield and the EPSRC Future Metrology Hub. His research work encompasses a wide spectrum of precision metrology, including surface metrology, dimensional metrology, and X-ray computed tomography. Currently, he primarily focuses on metrology technology for advanced manufacturing, particularly additive manufacturing, and laser-based manufacturing. He is dedicated to developing innovative metrological techniques that ensure the utmost accuracy and precision in these cutting-edge manufacturing processes. He is also immersed in the realm of X-ray computed tomography, harnessing this technology to establish traceable and high-precision metrological standards.
