Accessibility

Suntec Singapore, the official Congress Venue for the RCOG World Congress 2018, is specially designed for the comfort of all guests. Each level is easily accessible with wheelchair-friendly elevators. The public areas have been built with wide corridors to ensure adequate space for wheelchairs and other mobility equipment.

Badges

Please note that delegates are required to wear their congress name badges at all times at Suntec Singapore. Access to all venues will be monitored. Name badges are not transferable. The organiser reserves the right to request for proof of identity.

Should you lose your badge, please proceed to the Registration Counter at Concourse 3, Level 3 Suntec Singapore for a replacement badge. Each replacement badge will cost SGD 50.00 + GST.

A badge recycling box is available at the registration counter.

Business Centre

The Business Centre is located in the executive offices on Level 3. The centre offers a full range of office support services for your ease and convenience.

Catering

Tea / coffee and lunch for delegates and exhibitors, will be served in the Exhibition Hall and lunch symposia at the times specified in the programme.

CME Accreditation

The RCOG World Congress 2018 is recognised by the Singapore Medical Council as a Continuing Medical Education programme (CME).  All fully and conditionally registered Doctors in Singapore can sign up for their CME as follows:

To sign-up for CME points on each day of participation, you are required to scan your badges twice a day at the Bag Collection Counter as follows:

CPD Accreditation

Those registered for the RCOG CPD Programme may claim 1 CPD credit per hour of learning achieved at the Congress and associated Breakfast Sessions and Pre-Congress Workshops (excluding discussions and refreshment breaks).

The emphasis in the CPD system is what you have learnt rather than a blanket number of points per event so the number of points will be different for each individual. As a guide though, you can find the maximum numbers of points for different parts of the event below:

Indemnity/Insurance

The Congress Organisers have taken reasonable care in making arrangements for the Congress, Exhibition, and Social Programme. Neither the Organising Body, the Local Core Organising Committee, the Professional Congress Organiser, nor its sponsors or committee members assume any responsibility, contractual or delictual for any loss, injury or damage to persons or belongings, or additional expenses incurred as a result of delays or changes in air, rail, sea, road or other services, strikes, sicknesses, weather, or for any acts or omissions by any persons, or for any unforeseen changes to the programme including cancellation of the Congress due to force majeure or any related events or activities. All participants are accordingly advised to make their own arrangements for adequate insurance cover including personal health and travel insurance.

Language

The official language of the congress is English. There will be no simultaneous interpretation.

Lost and found

For information on any lost and found property, please check with the RCOG World Congress 2018 Exhibition Management Office, located outside the Exhibition Hall 405 EX, Level 4.

Mobile phones

Delegates are requested to turn their mobile phones or devices to silent when entering sessions.

Parking

Suntec Singapore owns one of the biggest car parks in Singapore, with 3,100 lots available.

Photography

Please be aware that a photographer has been commissioned by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists to take photographs at this event.

These photographs may be included in the College’s educational, promotional, corporate publications and on its website. They may also be circulated in the media and made available to interested parties.

If you do not wish to be included in any shots or footage, please advise the photographer.

Plenary Sessions

All Plenary sessions will be live streamed into all conference rooms on Level 4 – 404A, 405B, 406CX and 406D.

Prayer Room

A prayer room will be provided for delegates of any faith at Hall 403.

Badge Scanning Privacy Policy

  •  You understand that by allowing your badge to be scanned during the Congress (by an exhibitor, sponsor or at a lunch or breakfast symposium), you are giving consent to share your personal data with the sponsors and exhibitors, allowing them to contact you about their products or services, and any information collected by them may be shared outside of Singapore for the same purposes.
  • The Congress Organisers, Congress Secretariat and their partners will not be held responsible should the information collected be misused for other purposes by the sponsors and exhibitors.

Room Capacities

We make every effort to ensure the room size is appropriate for the session, based on the information provided to us by delegates when they registered for the Congress.

We regret we cannot guarantee availability in any particular session, although we do our best to avoid any disappointment. We apologise in advance if you are not able to attend a session because a room is full.

With this in mind, we encourage you to arrive promptly at your chosen session to ensure you have a seat.

Smoking

The Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre is a non-smoking venue. There are designated smoking areas outside the building.

Speakers’ Preview Room

Registration of Speakers and Chairpersons will be at the Speakers’ Preview Room for:

  • Collection of Congress pass and the Congress Satchels
  • Uploading and checking of presentation materials

 

  1. Please proceed to the speakers’ Preview Room to collect your Congress pass the day prior to your scheduled presentation.

ii)     Please ensure that all amendments are completed in the speakers’ preview room at least 4-hours before the start of your session.

iii)    Changes to your slides can be done in the Speakers’ Preview Room, at the following timings:

  1. Please note that all speaker venues are fitted with computer projection facilities only. No overhead projector facilities are available.
  2. Speakers should report to the room of their presentation at least 15 minutes before the start of the session to meet the session chairpersons, and familiarise themselves with the audio-visual equipment and venue layout.
  3. Speakers are required to strictly adhere to the allocated presentation time allowance.

Transport

Transport will not be provided by RCOG to and from Suntec Convention Centre; your hotel’s concierge will be able to assist you with booking a reputable taxi.

GST/Tax Refunds on Departure

As a tourist in Singapore, if you make any purchase of more than SGD 100 (including GST) at participating shops, you may claim a refund on the 7% Goods and Services Tax (GST) paid on your purchases.

You are entitled up to 3 same-day receipts/invoices from shops bearing the same GST registration number to meet this minimum purchase amount of SGD 100. To know whether a shop is participating in the Tourist Refund Scheme (TRS), look for a “Tax Free” shopping logo or sign displayed at the shop. You can also check with the retailer whether your purchases are eligible for GST refund.
