You are required to create a personal account, enabling submitters to perform tasks like submitting & editing abstracts, registering & making payments for the conference, and downloading their invoices & payment receipts.

Abstract Submission Instructions

• Follow the on-screen instructions to submit your abstract/s. You are only allowed to submit two abstracts per registration. 
• Should you have more than two abstracts, please get your co-author/s to register and make payment.
• An abstract ID will be assigned to each successfully submitted abstract. To avoid confusion & miscommunication, please quote your abstract ID in all correspondence with the Conference Secretariat.
• Abstract Receipt Confirmation
  • Upon successful submission, authors will receive an automated acknowledgement via email.
  • A lack of acknowledgement will indicate that we did not receive the abstract.
  • The possibility of not receiving the acknowledgement could be due to your university/institution server blocking our acknowledgement email, or it has ended in the junk box.
  • Please get in touch with the Conference Secretariat if the acknowledgement does not follow the abstract you submit.
  • Abstracts must be received by Sunday, 17 September 2023.

• English is the official language throughout the meeting.
• Abstracts must be submitted in English only.
• Only abstracts received via the icOPEN 2023 submission portal will be considered.
• The abstract should contain text only (no graphics or mathematical equations) and may not exceed 250 words.
• Please use the guide on abstract categories (as shown below) to select the most appropriate category. 
• Authors must state their preferred presentation mode (Oral or poster), which is usually honoured but is not guaranteed to be satisfied.
• After submission of the abstract and before the closing date, you may continue to edit the abstract. Examples of changes: abstract title and/or contents, add/remove/re-order authors, withdraw an abstract, etc.
• DO NOT identify the author(s) or institution(s) and references in the main text.
• All co-authors' names must be included to prevent omission from all publications and the author index.
• All abstracts are subject to a peer review process. Reviewers are the conference’s scientific committee of experts in fields that specifically match the conference topics.
• The reviewers reserve the right to change your abstract submission categories.
• Abstracts will be judged solely based on the data submitted in the abstract.
• Authors of accepted abstracts may choose to submit a full paper.
• By submitting the abstract, you have granted the icOPEN 2023 organisers permission to disseminate it electronically.

• Abstracts will be reviewed based on their contents and scientific merit.
• Notification of Acceptance
  • The Presenting Author of each abstract accepted will be notified by email.
  • Accepted abstracts will be notified starting Tuesday, 15 August 2023.
• Acceptance is on condition that at least one author will register, pay and present the paper at the conference.
• icOPEN 2023 Scientific Committee reserves the right to withdraw a paper from distribution if the paper is not presented at the conference.
