Alex Tang

Dr Tang graduated from the School of Medicine, University of Malaya and had his radiology training at the National University of Malaysia in 1995. He completed his fellowship in vascular & interventional radiology at the Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College of Medicine, University of London, and Guy's Hospital, London in 1998. He furthered his training in interventional neuroradiology at the Radcliff Infirmary, Oxford in 2000.

Allan Taylor

Allan Taylor is clinical head of unit of neurosurgery at Groote Schuur Hospital and an Associate Professor at the University of Cape Town. After completing his neurosurgery training in 1995, he focused his work and research on skull base, as well as neurovascular surgery.   Given the shift in the treatment of intracranial and spinal vascular pathology, Allan subsequently also developed expertise in endovascular approaches.  With the encouragement and help of Pierre Lasjaunias and Karel ter Brugge he established an endovascular fellowship program in South Africa. Under his leadership practical training is provided and research actively encouraged.

Anis Shafina Mahfudz

Dr Anis Shafina Mahfudz is a Clinical Fellow in Interventional Radiology & Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) based in Sungai Buloh, Selangor. She is an active member of Malaysian Society of Interventional Radiology (MySIR) and currently working on establishing Interventional Radiology services at UiTM Medical Specialist Centre, Sungai Buloh. She also provides her clinical expertise to Selayang Hospital's Interventional Radiology Unit.

Bernard Yan

A/Professor Bernard Yan is both Neurologist and Endovascular Neurointerventionist in Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia. His clinical expertise is in stroke intervention and aneurysms. His administrative responsibilities include Treasurer (2014 onwards) of the World Stroke Organization (WSO) and organizer of the Australia and China Training Initiative of Neurology (ACTION) programme. The programme is in its 8th year of operations and has successfully trained over 300 young neurologists from China.

Dr Yip is currently a consultant breast surgeon in Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care in Malaysia, and is the lead clinician for the breast cancer research programme in the Cancer Research Malaysia, which is a charity based cancer research organization.

Harjeet Singh

Dr Harjeet Singhprides himself in being known in the medical circle as a self-driven and dedicated Orthopaedic Surgeon, Traumatologist & Sporting Injury Specialist. In the last 3 years, he has been instrumental in pioneering as well as setting up "Columbia Asia Centre of Excellence (CACE) for Sports Injury & Exercise Medicine". He recognizes the gravity of having good preventive strategies in place particularly in sporting injuries – specific to both the professional athletes and the recreational weekend warriors. As a result of which he has written several articles and given interviews to this end, published and aired in the national media. Additionally, he is acutely cognizant of the importance of a quality team approach at all levels in patient care and therefore meticulously implement it in his practise, through practical training and continuing education for all levels of medical staff.

Dr Choi is one of the pioneering physicians of Interventional Neuroradiology. He has been involved in advances of knowledge and development of many new tools in neurovascular diseases since his fellowship training in 1981. Dr. Choi has not only contributed advances in clinical practice, he has also concentrated in training many younger physicians, especially from Asian countries. He has led the education program, PLANET course following sudden passing of Prof. P. Lasjaunias in 2007.

James Griffith

James Griffith was trained in Cork, Ireland and Birmingham, UK and is currently Professor and Head of Musculoskeletal Imaging at the Department of Imaging and Interventional Radiology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His clinical radiological practice incorporates all aspects of musculoskeletal imaging from radiography, ultrasound, CT, MRI through to PET imaging as well as basic interventional musculoskeletal techniques. His main current research areas are marrow changes in osteoporosis, particularly with respect to the pathophysiology and early diagnosis of osteoporosis, the imaging of bone architecture and quantification of inflammatory change in rheumatoid arthritis and anklylosing spondylitis.

Jan Gralla

Prof. Gralla is a specialist radiologist focusing on "diagnostic neuroradiology", "invasive neuroradiology" and "invasive pain therapy". He heads a large team of leading doctors, consultants, registrars, radiographers, nurses, as well as physicists and computer scientists.

The University Institute of Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology at the Inselspital, Berne specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions of the brain, neck and spinal cord using neuroradiological techniques.

Karel G. ter Brugge

Dr ter Brugge was the President of the World Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (1999-2001) and the Chairman of the second Congress of the WFITN in Vancouver 1993 and the past Secretary General of the World Federation of Neuroradiological Societies (WFNS) (2008-2010). He is the current President of the Canadian Neuroradiological Soceity. He is the Co-Director of the annual International Neurovascular Course (PLANET) and the annual Canadian course on Interventional Neuroradiology.

Dr ter Brugge has over 300 publications in scientific journals and chapters in books. He co-authored with Drs Lasjaunias and Berenstein the 2nd edition of the 3 Volume textbook on Surgical Neuroangiography. He is also co-authored with Drs Krings and Geibprasert the textbooks case-based Interventional Neuroradiology and Neurovascular Anatomy in Interventional Neuroradiology

Dr ter Brugge is the Editor in Chief of the Journal Interventional Neuroradiology. He has been an internationally acclaimed leader in the field of neuroradiology for many decades and numerous physicians from Canada and around the world have trained under his supervision.

Kittipong Srivatanakul

Dr Kittipong Srivatanakul is a teaching neuro/endovascular surgeon in one of the most active centres in Kanagawa prefecture, Japan. He offers proper treatment solutions based on anatomy and pathophysiology of the disease.

Luo Chao-Bao

Assoc Professor Dr Luo Chao-Bao is Chief of Neuroradiology, Taipei Veterans General Hospital, Dept of Radiology. He is actively involved in interventional neuroradiology since 1995. Assoc Professor Dr Luo done more than 150 cases of cerebrovascular disease in one year, majorly in intracranial aneurysm, cranial dural AVFs, pial AVMs as well as intra-arterial thrombectomy. Since 2012, he is the national delegate of AAFITN.

Lynette Teo

Lynette is a radiologist at the National University Hospital, Singapore. After graduating from the UK, she did her radiology training in Singapore with subsequent fellowships in cardiothoracic imaging at the Royal Brompton Hospital, United Kingdom in 2006/7 and 2011.

Sumithra Sannasey

Dr Sumithra graduated with MBBS from Faculty of medicine, Bangalore University, India in 2001 and got her masters in Radiology from University Malaya in 2010. She completed her Musculoskeletal training under the Fellow in Musculoskeletal programme in Hospital Kuala Lumpur and University California, San Diego in 2016. She is currently working in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah since August 2016. Her work spans both clinical radiology and musculoskeletal radiology. She is actively involved in the orthopaedic services in 3 hospitals in Kota Kinabalu, regularly involved with the monthly radiology -orthopaedic conferences. In addition, she supervises and teaches the radiology residents.

She is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, European Society of Radiology, Malaysian Association for the Study of Pain and College of Radiology Malaysia. She is currently in the committee for the scientific meeting of the 13th Asian-Australasian Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology 2018 and have been regularly invited as a speaker for local meeting and conferences.

Syazatul Syakirin Sirol Aflah

Dr Syazatul Syakirin binti Sirol Aflah, is a respiratory physician working at the Institute of Respiratory Medicine, Kuala Lumpur. She graduated from the National University of Malaysia in 2003 and obtained her Membership of Royal College Physician (MRCP) United Kingdom in the year 2010. She pursued respiratory sub-speciality training in Malaysia with further training in Interstitial Lung Disease in Forli, Italy with Profesor Venerino Poletti. She is a member of Malaysia Thoracic Society (MTS), Malaysia Association Bronchology Intervention Pulmonology (MABIP), World Association Bronchology Intervention Pulmonology (WABIP), Asia Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR), International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) and World Association Sarcoidosis and other granulomatous disorders. She is actively in research and participate in presenting oral and poster in local and international congress.

Dr Tchoyoson Lim (MBBS, FRCR, MMed Diag Radiol) is Senior Consultant Neuroradiologist, National Neuroscience Institute, Singapore and Adjunct Professor Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School. Winston Chong W.K.

Associate Professor Dr Winston Chong is an interventional neuroradiologist from Monash University, Monash Medical Centre, Australia. He is also teaches in Macquarie University and University of Melbourne. Professor Chong was the President of the highly successful WFITN 2015 Congress held in Gold Coast, Australia. He has contributed vastly through many active roles in Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologies and on world stage through WFITN and AAFITN.

Winston Lim

Associate Professor Dr Winston Lim of Singapore established the Neurointerventional service at the Singapore General Hospital after returning from his NIR fellowship in Oxford UK in 1996. He has served in the past as President of Singapore Radiological Society (2006 - 2010), was a Council Member and Treasurer on the Executive Committee of the Asian Oceanian Society of Radiology and a member of the WFITN and AAFITN.

Zhang Hong Qi

Professor Zhang HongQi is Professor and Chairman of Neurosurgery Department, Xuanwu Hospital, the Capital Medical University.
I focus on vascular diseases in brain and spinal cord and has mastered the skill of microneurosurgery and interventional neuroradiology.

Zuhanis Abdul Hamid
