Organised by SACEOS in strategic partnership with the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), the 2nd edition of the Singapore MICE Challenge 2016 is a nationwide challenge for all students in their tertiary education majoring in MICE or Business Events, Business Management, Hospitality and Tourism related fields. The Singapore MICE Challenge engages competing teams on their knowledge and understanding of the MICE & Events industry to create a successful business event.
The main aim of the challenge is:
- To provide a platform for students to develop their creativity and present fresh and unique ideas for the industry.
- By applying what they learnt in school, students gain real-life experiences of conceptualizing, business-testing and organizing a MICE event.
- Working with various MICE leaders and professionals, the MICE Challenge will engage tertiary students by challenging them to apply theory to practicality.
The Challenge: Proposal
With the focus on 2 identified industry sub-clusters - ICT & Media and Energy & Environment, competing teams are to conceptualise and business-test an exhibition and/or conference focusing on either of the selected sub-cluster. Audience may expect to hear a series of creative ideas on how an exhibition and/or conference can be organised.
The Challenge: Presentation on 29 July
- 5 minute Pitch Presentation and 3 minute Q&A session
Competing teams will present their final proposal to the panel of judges made up by some of the top MICE leaders in the world.
The winning team of 4 will be invited for a fully sponsored trip to attend Convening Leaders 2017 next January in Austin, Texas to interact with more than 4,000 industry thought leaders from the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA).
