Do you know that you can apply for the Productivity and Innovation Credit (PIC) Scheme for your participation at the Singapore MICE Forum?!

Successful applications PIC credit depends on the relevancy of the Forum towards your business or if the Forum helps you to be more efficient in your business, and will depend largely on the attendee's job scope or the business operational needs against the proposed Forum. Applications are done post event and to be applied via the participating companies' respective Tax Portal. Applicants are to note that all final decisions and approvals lies with IRAS.

Application of the PIC Scheme under Training of Employees
This refers to the costs incurred to provide training to employees for the purposes of the trade and business, and can include both training conducted by the business' personnel or by external trainers.

For YA 2012 to YA 2018, qualifying training expenditure incurred on in-house training not accredited by the Workforce Development Agency (WDA) or approved/certified by the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) will also qualify for PIC, subject to a cap of $10,000 for each YA.

As an Illustration, on how the PIC Scheme may benefit you:
As the SMF event is before the 1st August 2016, the qualifying costs will be capped at 60% of the fees payable for the forum. Note that the PIC Scheme does not cover the Gala Dinner-only Passes.

Hence with the delegate fees at SGD410, you stand to claim back SGD246 (60% of forum fees).  You will pay only SGD 164 for the 1.5 days Forum.
