Background
Studies on health literacy show that large parts of the population and particularly vulnerable groups often have difficulties in dealing with health information (access, understand, appraise and apply). For Germany, the second representative health literacy study (HLS-GER 2) even concluded that 58 % of the population has a low level of health literacy and thus difficulties in accessing, understanding, appraising and applying health-related information. In response, there have been many efforts to strengthen health literacy. Organizational health literacy plays an important role in this context.

Objective
This presentation is based on a project being conducted on organizational health literacy in Germany. Various concepts, working aids, materials and instruments are already available internationally on this topic. However, they have not yet been prepared for the German health care system and its organizations. The aim of the project is therefore to take stock of existing concepts, tools and evidence and to examine the question of what terms and conditions are necessary to implement organizational health literacy in primary care.

Methods
In a first step, a multi-stage systematic literature and material search (scoping review) is carried out to answer the research questions of the project. Based on this, workshops will be conducted with experts and stakeholders from primary and outpatient care. These are devoted to examining the transferability of the results to the German health care system and its organizations.

Results and Discussion

First results of the literature review and the workshop will be presented at the conference. For this purpose, an overview of existing concepts, tools and evidence will be given and the main findings of the workshops will be presented.
