Background. According to WHO, Health literacy (/HL) is a social determinant of health and one of the three pillars of health promotion. Thus, being HL related to health status, it is important to know and achieve satisfactory HL levels, specially among young people. We aim learning about Health Literacy (HL) and Digital Health Literacy (eHL) in university students and possible relationships with healthy lifestyles

Methods. Cross-sectoral sectional descriptive analysis. We used a digital survey including different sections: sociodemographics, health and healthy lifestyles, use of digital Technology,  Health literacy (HLS-EU-Q16), and  eHealth Literacy (eHEALS). Dissemination by WhatsApp and email to the university students.

Results. Preliminary results from 721 University students in health and social sciences, engineering  and humanities, 71.32% women, mean age 22.08 years old. Most of the sample reported good perceived health (73.9%) and no chronic diseases (74.06%). Limited health literacy was observed in the 64.02% of the students, specially in the disease prevention domain. Considering the whole group, eHealth literacy was in the limit between low and high (mean= 26.19 over 40); but when considering only health sciences students, eHealth literacy was higher (29.27). There was a significant positive relationship between Health literacy and eHealth Literacy, and between health literacy, ehealth literacy and age. In general, no gender differences were found. Other significant relationships with specific lifestyle behaviours will be discussed.

Conclusions. In line with previous studies in Spanish adult population there is room to improve young university students health literacy. eHealth literacy needs also to be improved in social sciences, engineering and humanities students, despite their intensive use of ICT and regular search for health information on the Internet.
