Abstract Content (abstracts should be written in Size 11 font, Arial font style) Objective Strengthen the quality of end-of-life care services, and guide patients and families to life review, relationship repair, and the four principles of life (love, gratitude, forgiveness, and grace in bidding farewell) through Comfort Nursing demonstrations repeatedly.
Methods Hospice & Palliative Care is a human-oriented way to provide physical, psychological and spiritual support to patients. As the increasing demand for Hospice & Palliative Care, Comfort Nursing is more important. According to statistics, the implementation rate of Comfort Nursing is only 68.5% from October to December, 2019. Therefore, the project improvement method is used to: (1) establish standard operating procedures for Comfort Nursing, (2) establish common items of Comfort Nursing and implement completely, and (3) stabilize physiological symptoms and psychological conditions of patients and their families by implementing Comfort Nursing demonstrations repeatedly. Hoping to create and enhance the atmosphere of Comfort Nursing execution.
Results In addition to the implementation rate of Comfort Nursing rises to 92%, the relationships between patients and their families are also promoted through tailored care and review of each life course. As for the nursing team, they enrich life experiences and self-worth from different stories of patients. As to the medical team, they will pay more attention to the quality of end-of-life care and patient dignity.
Conclusion Project improvement focuses on providing need-to-know and need-to-do for patients and their families. It not only promotes the service satisfaction of inpatients, but also increases the value of work and achievements of personnel. |
